This book was prepared at the Lithuanian Folk Culture Center under the directorate coordinating the activities to mark Lithuania's millennium. There are a number of books on Lithuanian national costumes but none are like this one. That is why the decision was made to make it available to our Baltic Value clients. It is a large hard cover book 25x 30cm. It is printed on high quality heavy paper. In great detail it describes the clothing and accessories worn by the four peoples of Lithuania and of the Klaipeda region. It also shows the different clothing worn for the different seasons of the year. The book goes into great detail to describe not only the clothing but also the different adornments and accessories. Even though the text is very informative, for the photographs alone it is worth adding this book to your collection. The quality of the photography is remarkable. The photos allow you clearly see the details of the costumes along with the radiant beauty of the colors. What is also a pleasure is that the back drop for the photos is the beauty of Lithuania's nature, farmsteads and villages.
